Kate Ahl, owner of Simple Pin Media
Welcome! I’m Kate Ahl and I have a passion for helping bloggers/content creators and small business owners grow their business using Pinterest. When I teach Pinterest marketing, I aim for it to be actionable, simple steps that help business owners move forward successfully instead of feeling overwhelmed.
I’ve learned a vast amount about how to effectively market on Pinterest organically. I started Simple Pin as a way to help my blogger friends take one thing off their plate so they could focus back on creating content for their blog. Four years later, 100 management clients and over 400 accounts worked with, I can honestly say we know a whole heck-of-a-lot about Pinterest.
I run Simple Pin out of my She Shed in the garden. I even have a Pinterest board devoted to She Shed ideas. It’s peaceful to work from home when balancing three kids and bonus foster baby we’ve had for over a year. My husband and I are passionate about running our businesses so they can release us to do great things that impact our community.
Simple Pin was started on a whim and a prayer than it could provide for a family financially when we were living off government assistance and $1000/month. That cannot sustain a family of five long term. You can listen to the entire Simple Pin story here. If you’re looking for social media management coaching I do that too!
You can read all about how I’ve built a successful team here.
I get asked to speak on Pinterest quite a bit. I’ve spoken at Build Your Blog Conference, Indulge and Blended, SNAP and Social Media Marketing World. This year I’ll be speaking at Activate and Everything Food and FinCon. I love speaking about Pinterest and would love to help you at your next event.
I like sparkly drinks, fine cheese, and great friends. I believe in cultivating my offline community as well as my online community. It helps to keep me focused and grounded. Someone has to help me ‘call my crazy’ sometimes and allow me to watch how they use Pinterest.
My husband and kids are hilarious (12, 10 and 8 and a bonus foster child age 2 who will forever have my heart). The kids have no idea what it means for their parents to work traditional jobs and are constantly asking us why we are working all the time. We only work 30 hours a week, for what it’s worth.
I’m glad you’ve found me and I look forward to connecting with you on some level within the Simple Pin community!
