Why I Took a Second Look at My Website
I’ll be honest, my website has been on autopilot for a while. I set things up years ago, installed a social sharing plugin, and then just kept it updated without really thinking about it. My focus has always been on client work, not my own site. But recently, I sat down with Andrew Wilder and Colin Newcomer of Nerd Press, the team behind the Hubbub plugin, and that conversation completely shifted how I see my website, not just as a place people land, but as a place they engage, explore, and actually stay.

What I’m Doing Differently Moving Forward
After this conversation with Colin and Andrew, I’m not just “keeping my site updated” anymore. I’m actually thinking about how people move through it. I’m looking at how I can make it easier for someone to find what they need, stay longer, and feel connected to my content.
That means simplifying things, being more intentional with what I include, and testing new features that actually enhance the experience instead of cluttering it. It also means paying attention to where my traffic is coming from and meeting people there, whether that’s Pinterest, email, or even private sharing like texts and DMs.
At the end of the day, it’s not about having the most features. It’s about creating a space where someone lands and thinks, “This is exactly what I needed.” And now I see just how possible that really is.
